What is it used for?

What should I tell my health care providers before I take this medicine?
Please do tell your physician if you have any of the following conditions:
- kidney disease
- an unusual or allergic reaction to amoxicillin, other penicillins, cephalosporin antibiotics, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
- pregnant or trying to get pregnant
How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine orally with a glass of water. You should follow the directions of your prescriptor. Amoxicillin can be taken with food or without it. Take it at regular intervals, never taking more of it than prescribed. Take all of it as directed even if you think you are getting better. You should never skip doses or stop your treatment course early.
Consult with your pediatrician regarding the possibility of the use of this medicine by children. While this medicine may be prescribed for certain conditions, reasonable precautions should be applied.
Overdosage: If you suspect an overdosage, contact the nearest poison control center or emergency room immediately.

What if I miss a dose?
If you missed a dose, it should be taken as soon as possible. If the time has almost come for your next dose, only that one should be taken. You should never take double or extra doses.
What are the possible interactions with the other medicine?

Also let them know if you smoke, drink alcohol, or use illegal drugs. Some of those items may interact with your treatment course.
Does this medicine have any possible side effects?
Side effects that you should report to your doctor as soon as possible:
- allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
- breathing problems
- dark urine
- redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
- severe or watery diarrhea
- trouble passing urine or change in the amount of urine
- unusual bleeding or bruising
- unusually weak or tired
- yellowing of the eyes or skin
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
- stomach upset
- trouble sleeping
Other side effects are also possible, the above list is not all inclusive.
What should I watch for while using this medicine?
Let your physician know if there is no visible improvement of your symptoms in 2 or 3 days. Take your medicine as directed, including dosage and timings. You shouldn’t skip doses or stop your medicine earlier than prescribed.
If you are suffering from diabetes, false positive result for sugar in your urine is also possible with certain brands of urine tests. You should consult your doctor regarding it.
Diarrhea shouldn’t be treated with over-the-counter products. Consult with your doctor if you have diarrhea that lasts for more than 2 days or if it is severe and watery.
Where should I keep this medicine?
Keep it out of the children’s reach.
Store between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). The bottle should be kept closed tightly. Dispose of any unused medicine after the expiry date is reached.
